Technical Specialist (Electronic Design Automation)

Division/School: Engineering Faculty Office
Contract type: Open Ended
Working pattern: Full time

Are you passionate about EDA software? Do you have an excellent knowledge of EDA tools, their deployment and maintenance? Would you like to be part of an innovative and developmental teaching and research environment? If your answer is yes, read on…

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol seeks an enthusiastic, Electronic Design Automation Technical Specialist.

You will support academic staff to teach and assist with research using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools across the Faculty of Engineering. You will be comfortable configuring EDA tools from first principles and working in both application and server-side environments to have your installations deploy to both Windows and Unix platforms. Specific experience of Cadence and/or Xilinx would be an advantage but is not essential. We are searching for enthusiastic applicants who are keen on learning and continually improving our uses of EDA tools and practically making them work.

Located in Merchant Venturers Building in the heart of our Clifton Campus you will help the engineers of the future learn and use the tools you are an expert in.

This post is being offered on a full time, open-ended contract. Job sharing and flexible working hours are negotiable. The University offers excellent employee benefits, including a generous annual leave entitlement, pension schemes and continual opportunities for staff development and training.

For informal discussion about the posts, you are welcome to contact:

It is anticipated that interviews will take place shortly after the closing date.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities.
