IC Resources are looking for a Software Engineer on a contract basis. The successful software engineer will be working within the aerospace and defence industry on a military-grade navigation project. Given the nature of the role, the software engineer will be required to liaise with external clients on a multi-organisational project and the software engineer may also be required to go to military sites. Primarily we are looking for a C++ Software engineer with experience of Qt and working on UI development, preferably within the aerospace and defence sector working on simulation and navigation. However, we would also consider an experienced software engineer with experience on government projects or engineering background.

Software Engineer requirements:

  • C++
  • Qt5
  • Experience in the aerospace and defence industry or strong engineering background
  • UI development experience

Desirable:

  • Experience working on simulation or navigation projects
  • Experience communicating with external clients
  • Previous SC clearance

Partial remote working will be considered dependant on the software engineer experience and ability to work effectively. This is likely to consist of 2-3 months onsite learning technologies and familiarising yourself with the project/ team before 1-2 days a week at home. There will be ad-hoc site visits that you will need to attend.

My client are offering an 18-month contract and every candidates rate will be considered on a cost/benefit ratio compared to their experience. With that said, a rough guide would be in the region of £45-£50 per hour.

If you have the necessary skills, please apply with an attached CV or contact Peter Greenlaw directly on 0118 907 7883.
