Area Sales Manager - Electronic Component Manufacturer - Sweden

An international Manufacturer of electronic components is seeking an experienced sales person to join their team based in Stockholm with responsibilities to cover the whole of Sweden, Finland & Norway.


  • * 6 to 8 years' experience in various Sales assignments relevant to the Electronic Component market.
  • Work experience in the selling and designing in components ideally in the passives or connector component area.
  • Clear, structured thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and to meet challenging targets
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and requirements and make recommendations to customer engineers to "design-in" equivalent components
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (team player) - communication and integration of processes across the company
  • Readiness to travel - Job duties may require up to 80% travel to maximise time in front of customers and distribution partner


  • Develops new business (new customers, identifies product gaps, advises about trends and needs) and assists customers in adopting company products to their own requirements and specifications.
  • Closely cooperates with distribution partners (significant part of the business in this area) in Demand Discovery and Demand Creation.
  • Coordinate contacts at the customers. The ASM will be the interface for all functions i.e. Field Application Engineer (FAE), Market Director (MD) and Product Line Manager (PLM) with Application Engineers (AE).
  • Makes an optimum number of face to face sales calls to engineering, procurement and other related departments for the purpose of product presentations, pursuing information and obtaining sales orders.
  • Achieves monthly sales booking and billing quotas, Point of Sales (POS) goals and forecasts.
  • Remain alert to competitive products and merchandising practices, and keeps management informed concerning them.
  • Attends and participates in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, sales contests, and trade shows as directed.

This role is an opportunity to join one of the market leaders within the Electronic components space who already have a strong and well-established market in place within the relevant region. You will have responsibilities external responsibilities and therefore be encouraged to meet customers face-to-face and on-site in order to build/develop relationships with customers.
