Mechanical Design Engineer

Competitive market salary depending on experience

I am looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join my clients automotive engineering team. My client design, source and manage production technology with the aim of creating a high efficiency production line.


The main purpose of this role will be within the body section creating mechanical designs, welding of jigs, fixtures, special purpose machinery and robot cells.


Experience

  • Must have BIW - Body In White experience, welding fixtures and equipment design (welding of individual panel parts to form sub assemblies)
  • Special purpose machines welding
  • Mechanical design, detailing, assembly drawing, bill of materials and geometrical tolerance.
  • 3D solid modelling.
  • Awareness of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical control systems.
  • HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering


Additional skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • 3D Cad - Catia V5
