Business Development Consultant - Smart Cities - UK

My client, a future wireless technology company, is seeking a consultant Business Developer to help grow the Smart City Business Unit. You will be contracted, for a minimum of 6-months, to identify relevant opportunities and help build strategic partnerships. You can be home-based but expected to travel to the London office, as well as to clients across the UK/Europe.


-Relevant technical degree or equivalent.

-In-depth knowledge of the UK transport sector (both private and public) including an understanding of public funding opportunities and public transport structures.

-Proven track-record of business development within the IOT / transport space.

-Data-driven and digitally competent.

-Solid understanding of IOT technologies, in relation to Smart Cities, on cloud-based systems.


-Work alongside the Director of Business Development to develop new business opportunities for the Smart City business unit.

-Utilise Public and private sector transport knowledge; spotting funding opportunities and encouraging growth.

-Drive key tender opportunities; writing bids and taking a "hands-on" approach.

-Hit and exceed targets; developing strong relationships and rapport throughout.

This is open to a pro-active, experienced, "hunter" whom can hit-the-ground running on developing the Smart City business through quick engagement and a targeted approach. You will need to have a strong technical background in complex cloud solutions and IOT/Smart-city and you will already understand the UK transport market. It is a 6-month contract with the possibility to extend.
