Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the primary role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide advice and support relating to the manufacture of wiring harness assemblies and line replaceable units destined for the aerospace market. You will be required to work with the Design and Manufacturing Teams in a rapidly growing business ensuring that manufacturing solutions are delivered which meet and exceed quality, cost and schedule requirements meeting the company's vision of Delivering Global Excellence by Design.

Responsibilities will include:
-Provide engineering advice and support for new aircraft based projects in support of our customer's requirements.
-Review of customer specifications and drawings to create build information to allow manufacture of assemblies within the production facility.
-Inform decisions using PFMEA and DFMEA as appropriate.
-Design Reviews, Drawing Reviews, Product Verification and Bill of Material reviews and creation.
-Identify tools and fixtures required to manufacture the product to the specifications and tolerances required.
-Create standard operating procedures and manufacturing instructions.
-Initiate and lead problem solving techniques.
-Support with the changes required for both continuous improvement and mandatory requirements during this exciting time of growth and improvement of the business.
-Position Requirements:
-A relevant qualification in an avionics or aircraft engineering discipline or proven related experience.
-Demonstrate enthusiasm and a proactive approach to technical tasks and problem solving.
-Relevant experience in the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
-Working knowledge in an assembly or maintenance environment.
-Experience of Defence and Aerospace procedures and regulations would be advantageous but not essential.
-Knowledge of EASA certification standards.
-Familiarity with the use of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD and Solidworks) would be advantageous but not essential.

Would suit ex Army/RAF avionics or aircraft technician Class 1 or above.
