Supply Chain Manager
Join the international marketing and manufacturing arm of one of the worlds largest oil produces in your new career as their supply chain manager. This arm of the business manufactures a full range of automotive and industrial lubricants and has offices in over 20 countries - it's a big old business!
What they're looking for is YOU, and what YOU are is an all round Supply Chain Management expert, with experience of working with external manufacturing partners, internal logistics processes, general supply chain planning and a smidge of S&OP exposure. YOU will most likely have experience of dealing with packaged goods and bulk liquids (Their packaged products range from 250ml up to 1000 litres! After that they pour them in a tanker). Meaning YOU will likely come from the same industry, or will work in the/with the oil & gas, drinks or chemicals sectors. YOU will be adept at managing third party manufacturing partners (in this case a toll blender), knowing when to turn on the heat or the charm and will be very capable of measuring their success.
Day to day the aim of the supply chain manager is to provide stock at minimum cost and maintain availability of stock for sales without excess. Sounds simple enough right? Well, when you are dealing with the range of products and volumes this company provides, it becomes altogether more chaotic when not managed correctly. This means that previous S&OP, Supply Chain, Demand or Supply Planning experience is absolutely essential to this role.
YOU will have strong administrative skills, including SAP experience. YOU will be an expert communicator with influencing skills. YOU will be well organised, curious and quality minded. YOU will have knowledge of warehousing activities and management systems. In summary I'm hoping to find a commercially & analytically minded logistician who is also a supply chain planning genius with experience of managing third party manufacturers - how hard can it be...
