5G Network Research Engineer - NFV, SDN, C, Python, Java
Location: Central London
Salary £40,000 +/-

My client is growing their new advanced communications innovation team based in London to support advanced research and development in the 5G Communications network space.

The successful 5G Network Research Engineer will be tasked with development software in C, Python and /or Java for advanced 5G systems and platform architectures such as NFV, SDN, C-RAN , working closely with pan European industry and academic partners, and leading internal development projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large well funded company within a small team that has the look and feel of a start-up. If you want to be involved in the evolution of next generation networks and be a key member of a team influencing network systems and architectures then this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Candidates will be degree qualified with recent experience of research, design and development of software and network controllers, plus:

- Programming skills ( for prototyping) such as C, Python, Java.
- Technologies of interest include: LTE, C-RAN, mesh networks, NFV, SDN, SON, Cloud Systems, Cognitive Networking, Services architectures
- Experience in European and/or national collaborative projects (e.g. FP7, Horizon2020, etc) as well as contemporary future internet and 5G related topics.
- Any exposure to wireless technology areas such as Machine to Machine and Internet of Things ( M2M / IoT ) would be a nice plus.
