This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior/ Principal Product Definition Specialist to join a successful and established company involved in the design of high speed Analog and Mixed Signal ICs for the data communications market.

They currently seek a Senior/ Principal Product Definition Specialist to join our team for their site located in South West, England and your responsibilities will include:

*Work with Marketing & Product Development teams towards the detailed definition of highly differentiated new products in support of the optical products.
*Ensure new products are defined with superior features and performance relative to market competition.
*Work with leadership team to plan the future technology and strategic product direction for the division.
*Ensure new products are compatible with appropriate standards and customers target systems.
*Support the various teams in IC Design, OSA Design and Applications engineering teams with systems level expertise.
*Responsible for standards reference and specification conflict resolution.
*Build and maintain relationships with customers by visiting them and attend standard organization meetings; international travel around 3-5 times per year.

A solid understanding is required in Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design in CMOS (as well as in SiGe, BiCMOS technologies). Experience is preferable in high speed multi gigabit design (up to and beyond 10Gbit/s) in opto electronic products i.e laser drivers or transimpedance amplifiers.

Additional experience is required in the following:

*High speed optical systems, including PON/FTTH, Ethernet and transport technologies.
*Detailed knowledge of optical modules and sub-systems
*Experience of complex Analog, digital and data transmission system modeling, using MatLab or similar tools.
*Experience with microwave simulation tools & 3D field modeling tools.
*Proven experience of making high speed optical and electrical measurements in a development lab environment.
