GIS Software Engineer
Salary up to £50,000

My very successful IoT (Internet of Things) client, due to the planned development and need for further IoT applications, has a requirement for a GIS Software Engineer to work on the development and operation of network planning tools.

As GIS Software Engineer you will be involved in:
*Developing and maintain the in house network planning tool
*Integration of network planning with live network KPIs
*Data analysis for algorithm optimisation
*Support for sales and operations in delivering network plans
*It is expected that this role may evolve into other area of related software development over time

Essential skills needed as GIS Software Engineer:
*Degree in a numerate / computer science related subject (or equivalent experience)
*Typically a minimum 3 years relevant post-graduate experience
*Software development using languages such as C/C++
*Scripting languages (e.g. Python)
*Knowledge of geographic information and database systems
*Experience of the "full lifecycle" of software development: architecture, design, documentation, coding, testing
*Software testing: unit, functional, regression, acceptance

It would also be beneficial to have any of the following:
*Experience with the Linux/UNIX operating system as a developer
*Development tools design experience
