Senior Analog/RF IC Layout Engineer - Cambridge

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Analog/RF IC Layout Engineer to join a global company in their design centre based in Cambridge working on high performance next generation transceiver design for cellular and connectivity applications.

In this role the Analog/RF IC Layout Engineer will be involved in the Layout of high performance RF, Analog / Mixed Signal IPs and products in CMOS and Fine technologies such as LNAs, Mixers, filters, Power Amplifiers, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, Op amps, bandgaps and reference circuits. Experience in high speed and RF IC Layout is preferred but not a must. As a team member you will participate in the whole product design cycle from definition of the circuit architecture and circuit implementation to the silicon test and validation. Additionally CAD tasks and some design experience in the mentioned blocks will be part of your responsibility.

Industry degree qualified, the successful Analog/RF IC Layout Engineer will have solid experience from within a similar role in a commercial company and be able to work fully independently. Your skill set includes:

Experience in layout of blocks such as ADCs, DACs, LNAs, Mixers, Filters, PLLs, Op amps, bandgaps and reference circuits
Experience in floor planning in IP/Chip level of complex circuits down to layout out of Analog sub-blocks with area optimization, design for manufacturing , matching , shielding , parasitic minimization
Experience with CAD tools like Cadence or Mentor
A good understanding of all the interactions between Analog and Digital blocks
Good knowledge of ESD cells and layout are desirable.
Good knowledge of extraction tools such as QRC, xACT, PERC is preferable.
Good knowledge of semiconductor device physics and process technology.
