This is a unique opportunity for someone with an Analog IC Design background to move into a product definition and planning position. If you have excellent people skills and are looking for an opportunity to move into a marketing or commercial direction then read on..

Based in Southampton, you will be joining a team of expert designers working on developing Analog circuits for high speed optical communication applications. In this role you will be planning and driving product definition specifications into design engineering and other departments to ensure timely realisation of commercial products.

Other responsibilities include:

*Working with Marketing and Development teams towards the detailed definition of new products
*Ensure new products are compatible with appropriate standards and customer applications
*Participate in the development and on-going maintenance of company product road map
*Development of product training material, applications notes and sales collateral in conjunction with marketing
*Work with the leadership team to plan the future technology and strategic product direction

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in the Semiconductor sector, have a highly technical and detailed approach to product definition and technical product documentation. You will be able to foster tight partnerships with design engineering, marketing, applications and sales teams and have proven experience within the semiconductor and, ideally, optical networking sector.

Requirements include:

*Technical competency: Experience with IC Design of high speed Analog and/or optical communications systems
*Experience in Analog and Mixed Signal semiconductor products
*Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint as primary tools for product definition work

Excellent communication skills are required, with customer facing and with commercial/market awareness and experience managing meetings directly with customers and negotiating specifications. You will have strong analytical and quantitative skills and an understanding of IC Design and how to put together documentation for designers to work from.
