My client is a semiconductor service provider, which includes the design and test of ICs. They use a lot of test equipment, for both wafer and die level test, and are looking for a Shift Equipment Engineer who can maintain and troubleshoot probers/ handlers/ pick and place tools. This person will also train operators on the usage; keep spare parts in stock to reduce downtime; track all electronic and mechanical faults; and even design parts/ components to stop common failures from reoccurring.

It's a role which requires very strong fault finding capabilities, as well as the following:

- A mechanical or electronic/ electrical engineering background
- Experience maintaining robotic/ pneumatic systems
- The ability to operate under extreme time pressure
- The willingness to work on a shift basis (3 x 12 hour shifts - 2 lots of days, 2 lots of nights)
- The ability to mentor junior members of the team
- An aptitude for cross training on tools, applying principles to different types of equipment
