Introduction

Electromechanical Technician in the Technology Department (TE) in the Electrical Power Converters Group (TE-EPC), Operation Maintenance Support Section (TE-EPC-OMS).

You will join the Operation Maintenance Support Section (TE-EPC-OMS), whose members participate in the production, operation and maintenance of all the electrical power systems managed by the TE-EPC group.



Functions

As electro-mechanical technician, you will be a member of the team responsible for the production, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems.

Your main activities will consist of:

  • Participating in the design and production (mechanical assembly, integration and wiring) of new power systems.
  • Participating in the installation of new power systems.
  • Proposing improvements and upgrade of the existing equipment.
  • Participating in the maintenance of the power systems.
  • Supervising electromechanical work completed by contractors.


Qualification required

Technical certificate or general secondary education in the field of electro-mechanics, or equivalent.



Experience and competencies

The experience required for this post is:

  • Demonstrated experience in the production, installation and/or maintenance of electro-mechanical systems.


The following additional experience would be an asset:

  • Experience in operation of overhead crane, slings and handling.
  • Operations on electrical installations and equipment to comply with the requirements of the NF C18-510 electrical standards.

The technical competencies required for this post are:

  • Electro-mechanical construction: manufacturing mechanical pieces using basic manual machine-tools, assembling electromechanical sub-systems.
  • Maintenance & operation of electro-mechanical equipment: maintaining and repairing electromechanical systems.
  • Installation & dismantling of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Assembly of connectors and cables, including related techniques and tools: manufacturing power cables, wiring and cabling sub-systems.
  • Welding and brazing pieces.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

The language competencies required are:

  • Spoken and written English or French: basic knowledge of the other language or an undertaking to acquire it rapidly.

Note on Employment Conditions

We offer a limited-duration contract for a period of 5 years. Limited-duration contracts shall terminate by default on their date of expiry.

  • Work in radiation areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • A valid driving licence is required.
  • Shift work, when required by the needs of the Organization.
  • Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
