Supplier Quality / Assurance Engineer - Electronics

Based in Surrey The Supplier Quality / Assurance Engineer will working for a well known company who manufacturer products for the Aerospace, Military and Energy industry.

The Supplier Quality / Assurance Engineer will support the Quality and Product Assurance Manager. The Supplier Quality / Assurance Engineer must be a quality professional, with electronics or electromechanical knowledge, good organisation skills, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering or electrical manufacturing environment. The primary task will be focused on all aspects of the manufacturing processes, both internally and at sub-contractors to ensure that products and services are fit for purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Experience as a quality auditor would be an advantage.

The main responsibilities will be as follows

*To ensure that products and services are fit for purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
*Seek to continuously improve standards
*To contribute to the development of Integrated Maintenance Systems
* Drive quality improvements and process adherence including:
*Analyse production processes, identify areas for improvement, expansion of process controls, development of working instructions & set up / review of relevant process KPIs
*Investigate internal quality issues including all returns and non-conformances. Ensure all quality issues are correctly logged, monitored and escalated where appropriate. Assist in identifying root causes and support Production to overcome
*Support and improve software control methodologies (Embedded and Test)
*Drive production efficiencies using Lean / Sigma methodologies, process simplification, 5S configured areas, waste removal, etc.
*Customer documentation approvals - develop PPAP / FAI approvals for new products, in particular for big 3 customers
*With Engineering, manage production and design changes and ensure agreement by appropriate authority levels. Track and monitor all change notes; arrange sign off as appropriate with Q & PA Manager
Key Test Equipment - Statistical Process Control
*Assist in implementing SPC on key production processes and test equipment, manage the data, analyse results, monitor trends, recommend improvement actions

Supplier Quality Assurance

*Conduct supplier audits as required, support the Quality Manger with audits of external processes, including electronic, electromechanical and mechanical to drive improved product quality

Quality Systems, Frameworks and Processes - including Audits

*Support the Quality Manager in ensuring all procedures and quality systems are in line with legal and internal customer requirements, including writing and updating of procedures
*Help to drive the Integrated Management System at FT, including Quality ISO9001, Environmental ISO14001 and Safety standards
*Contribute to the preparation and planning for the completion of external and internal audits and assessments. Implement & monitor agreed audit recommendations as directed

To be successful in this role the Supplier Quality / Assurance Engineer will have the following skills, knowledge and experience

*Educated to HND/HNC level or equivalent in technical/ engineering subjects.
*Engineering degree Or BTEC or equivalent electronic l qualifications
*Electronics or electromechanical background
*Minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
*Strong problem solving skills
*Experience with using quality tools
*Experience of technical authoring
*Knowledge of SPC & statistical methods
*Experience of conducting Internal audits
*Able to carry out investigations and produce reports
*Can use Microsoft Office Products
*Experience of low volume, high value engineering
*Experience of Lean / Six sigma / TQM or similar
*Experience of measurement in a large test equipment environment
*Auditor qualification
*Process FMEA Kaizan experience
*Knowledge of MRP systems
