Based in the home counties the Hardware Applications Engineer will be joining a leading edge semiconductor company joining a highly talented team.

The Hardware Applications Engineer will be focused on delivering expertise on a range of high end products, working within a rapid learning environment alongside industry experts.

Key responsibilities will include Delivery of reactive and proactive technical support in these areas to customers and Sales groups as necessary. This may include the delivery of formal training and customer visits as appropriate; Communicating with your customers mainly by web interface, e-mail and telephone. It will be your responsibility to investigate component level problems and resolve these issues directly through the appropriate use of simulation and other analysis tools, or by working with the appropriate components and board level set-ups in the local laboratory facility; The proactive aspects of the position will require participation in development projects, possibly as part of an international, cross organizational team and may include the generation of collateral and reference designs.

The successful candidate will have a good relevant degree with a background in the following:
Excellent technical knowledge with skills and experience in, FPGA or ASIC design using Verilog or VHDL, board design, board debug, circuit and board modelling and simulation
Familiarity with digital, analogue and high-speed board design techniques employing recognized good design practice would be of value as would PCB layout skills.
Experience with the use of oscilloscopes, signal generators, pattern generators, logic analyzers and other laboratory equipment is essential.
Excellent communications skills
