Embedded Software Engineer

Spirax Sarco leads the world in the design and manufacture of thermal energy management systems.

Our vision is the creation of a Smart Thermal Grid for real-time management of thermal energy generation, distribution and conversion.

We need enthusiastic embedded software professionals to develop Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications to make our vision a reality.

Main Duties:

Highly proficient in ‘C’ coding, you’ll have the drive to progress to the senior role within two years.

Key Responsibilities:-

Specify, write & test real-time code for embedded microcontrollers, typically ARM/MSP430.

  • Produce low level device drivers.
  • Specify, write and execute acceptance & integration tests.
  • Write test scripts for such tests (typically Python).

Key Skills:

  • Ability to write efficient code for real-time embedded C/C++ applications on 16/32 bit platforms.
  • Familiarity with wired & wireless industrial communication protocols: Modbus (RTU) over TCP/IP & RS485, ISA100.
  • Detailed approach to the production of software.
  • Understanding of hardware circuit diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Safety Integrity Level coding.
  • Understanding of Real time/Embedded operating systems.
