Through sustained growth and a major cash injection into New Product Development projects a major international engineering manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer on a 12 month contract with a strong potential for the position going permanent; to join their ever expanding Procurement & Supply Chain team. With several new projects in place this exciting opportunity offers the right person a chance to build and make an instant impact with a great brand name.

The Role

As the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for ensuring items or services are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered upon agreed terms and conditions seeking maximum value for the company including agreed time and cost.

*The Senior Buyer will plan and prioritize purchasing activities to support the Product Line
*Act as contact person for all supply chain & finance initiatives
* Interface with the local AP personnel to ensure that the entire procurement to pay process is implemented fully and seamlessly at the local level.
*Ensures that the correct buy to pay channel is consistently
*Review planned orders and create requisitions for purchased items
*Transmit and prioritize approved purchase orders
*Prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports
*Review, updates and maintains Open Purchase Orders until closed
*Reports Supplier non-conformances
*Ensure Adherence to approved Supplier agreements/contracts
*Lead finance and Logistics staff in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies
*BOM Purchase Orders within System
*Identify opportunities and implements actions to continually reduce wasted time, money and resources form assigned tasks
*Purchasing Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical and Engineering raw materials.


As Senior Buyer you will have good Leadership and Management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. You will be analytical and structured with the ability to influence change.
You will be able to demonstrate principled leadership with sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values, and behavior. As the successful applicant you will come from a Supply chain, Engineering or Manufacturing background, ideally from an Engineering , Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas or Mechanical industry subsector.
