The successful applicant will come from a background in Hardware Electronics; the ideal candidate will have a solid work history.
Key to the role is a strong understanding of general electronic design (including microcontrollers), processes and tools.
To develop innovative analogue and digital electronic designs with focus on microcontroller/microprocessor based solutions for Conventional and Addressable Fire Alarm Devices
Component selection and circuit design to interface processors/microcontrollers to digital and analogue signals.
Schematic layout and simulations (For example PAD's).
Design for EMC requirements, to EN standards.
Design for Manufacture and production test
Must be able to work independently without direct supervision or encouragement, you will have a great opportunity to interact and work with a team of people trying to solve complex technical problems, but you will also need to demonstrate you are capable of solving problems and working autonomously.
Capable of working within a project based organization: Projects include new product development, value engineering, problem investigations, component obsolescence, feasibility studies, and general innovation.
Experience and training required to Perform Job
Educated to degree level or equivalent (in a relevant subject)
Experienced in electronic design, analysis and validation in a high volume and/or high reliability market
Excellent communication skills; particularly reporting
Self-motivated with a willingness to push existing boundaries and learn/develop new skills
Willing and able to travel, including overseas on occasion (customer support, suppliers and manufacturing sites etc.)

PIC Assembler / C
