This is a great opportunity for a talented and ambitious engineer to join Hitachi Power Device Division - one of the leading players in the development and production of power semiconductors, widely used for power conversion, motor control, industrial equipment, transportation, office equipment and home appliances. 

You will join a small, hardworking team based at the Division’s European headquarters in Maidenhead.

The role

You will be responsible for providing exceptional sales support to customers and ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and the division’s technical support objectives are achieved.

That means ensuring that appropriate and timely customer support is provided for designated product areas, building good working relationships with established customers and growing existing sales accounts in line with development plans.

You’ll also help identify and prospect new opportunities for growth and build relationship with new customers, as well as providing assistance with pre and post-sales support activity at exhibitions and other promotional events - this includes installation and breakdown as required.

Whilst you’ll ensure that operational performance and sales targets are met consistently and that business grows, you’ll also be expected to analyse and review current market developments and report on competitors and opportunities, making recommendations to management.


Your skills, knowledge and experience

We are looking for an experienced engineer, some one with a solid combination of technical expertise and customer skills. On the technical side you will possess a degree or equivalent in engineering, together with proven direct channel sales experience. Whilst practical experience in the power semiconductor component business would be an advantage, it’s important that you at least have an understanding or knowledge of the sector.

As you will be dealing directly with customers, you will need first-class interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to negotiate effectively. Any language skills would be an advantage.

A team player, able to work effectively on your own initiative, you’re also proactive, positive, analytical and able to prioritise a busy workload.
