Our client, a major Wireless Semiconductor organisation is seeking a Physical Design Lead to join its Chip Implementation team in Cambridge.
As a growing market leader in connectivity platforms in the telecommunications industry, there is a new requirement for a Digital Physical Design expert to be accountable for leading the backend design activity within the Chip Implementation team.
This role combines a strong technical hands-on focus with leadership responsibilities and day to day running of the group. The Physical Design Lead will be a key point of authority and work with management in assisting with the definition, implementation and upkeep of the IC implementation flow, providing the strategic direction on the implementation of ICs within the company.
This role could suit an individual with proven project management experience or an experienced engineer looking to step into a leadership role.
The role requires someone with:
*Extensive engineering experience in Digital Physical Design / Digital Chip Implementation
*Strong competence in EDA tools (Synopsys / Cadence / Mentor)and flows for RTL to GDSII design
*A strong ability to lead and motivate a team of Physical Design Engineers
*Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and external EDA tool vendors
