An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer specialising in C++ development on windows platforms to join an innovative business based in Oxford. The company itself has built up an outstanding reputation for being the leaders in the design, development and manufacture of innovative products supplied to various technical industries including motor sport and automotive as well as developing into other industries.
As the Software Engineer you will be responsible for writing, maintaining and operating their flagship software products as well as working with new product development teams based on various new and upcoming projects. You will be proficient in C++ (ie. use on a daily basis) and have exposure to a variety of programming concepts and idioms such as exception safety, thread safety, PIMPL, RAII, policies and traits. The aim is to bring in a Software Engineer that can hit the ground running and be responsible for the various projects you are given.
As the Software Engineer you must also be comfortable developing on Windows, particularly with Microsoft Visual Studio. Familiarity with Boost and Qt libraries is also preferable. Although not essential, experience with Linux would be a massive advantage.
Ideally you will be degree educated in Computer Science or another related course and have spent a considerable amount of time as a software engineer working on similar technologies and overseeing products throughout the complete life cycle.
The long term aim is to find a software engineer with a passion and enthusiasm for the industry. Longevity is the key and they are looking for someone with the aptitude to be a success with the business for many years. You will occasionally have to speak with clients and other businesses so confidence and good communication skills are essential for the right software engineer to make a mark.
