Based in Edinburgh, there is a new requirement for a Mechanical Engineer to join a team working on Optical Sensors and modules across the entire product lifecycle. This team is responsible for the development of test platforms, and will be closely working with the product engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle to design develop and document device handling solutions. The Mechanical Engineer will have responsibility for system architecture and mechanical design along with liaising with suppliers and contractors.
The successful candidate will have a good relevant degree in Mechanical Engineer or related, with additional skills in the following:
-Solidworks modelling
-Familiar with AutoCAD
-Knowledge of Visual C++
-Experience of high volume manufacturing
-Effective communication skills
-Experience with micro components including motion controls
-High volume manufacturing
