Senior Mechanical Engineer, Oxford
We are searching for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide our client with in-house mechanical engineering expertise and to aid faster product development.
Our client is a small technology based company specialising in the development of variable power lenses. Their technology has already been used to bring cheap, effective vision correction to thousands of people in the developing world. They also develop solutions for commercial applications in the optical industry.
We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer with the following profile:
A minimum of five years' experience in the design and manufacture in a commercial organisation.
Good academic background. Minimum qualification - degree in design related field.
Worked with a variety of manufacturing techniques in a number of different materials.
Excellent experience with plastic injection moulding will be a strong plus
Experience of:
Intricate mechanism and small scale design
Seal design
Team working.
Budgeting, time planning.
3D CAD and CAD data management.
Working closely with subcontractors to achieve desired results in efficient and timely manner
Working with companies NPI process.
The following will be reviewed as pluses:
Knowledge of optics and optical design.
Medical device design and associated requirements.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
