Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Central London

My client, based in North London, design and manufacture a broad range of Scientific & Medical Instrumentation equipment.

They currently require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

You will have excellent knowledge of enclosure design for complex electronic products with good experience of EMC and Thermal design / analysis. Any experience of designing products for Medical, Military, Aerospace or any other highly regulated environment would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
*Developing engineering designs for electromechanical products, which meet stringent requirements for size, precision, thermal performance, and reliability.
*Providing 3D CAD models of complete designs.
*Analyzing and validating material selection, tolerances, and manufacturability.
*Meeting performance and cost targets for the mechanical designs.
*Supporting compliance, regulatory and quality requirements related to design activities.
*Driving the development of prototypes, performance and verifications testing.
*Working with suppliers to provide solutions that meet quality and reliability requirements.

Key skills / experience:
*Several years industry experience in mechanical designs of assemblies, which include mechanical housing and electronics components.
*Working knowledge in mechanical analysis, simulations, and thermal designs.
*Experience with design for manufacturing, and knowledge of design for reliability.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Enthusiastic with good team working abilities.

You will be taking products from concept to manufacture and working closely with production on NPI etc issues.
