Our client, a globally renowned Semiconductor development company, is seeking the UK's best Senior IC Design Engineers to join there highly successful design centre based in Essex. The centre is responsible for the design and manufacture of high-performance analog, mixed-signal and power management semiconductors and addresses some of the fastest growing markets within the industrial and infrastructure, personal computing and high-end consumer markets.
The successful Senior IC Design Engineer will be expected to participate in all aspects of the development of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, including:
*Product definition and architectural development
*System and component level simulation and design
*Validation
*Layout and verification
*Prototype evaluation
*Test specification development and Test Engineering support
*Product release
*Application Engineering support
The successful Senior IC Design Engineer will have the following skills:
*A good working knowledge of BiCMOS or CMOS technology
*Familiarity with Cadence design tools
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent in English)
*Minimum of 8 years industrial experience working in analog or mixed signal IC design
*4 or more released products
*Good understanding of customer and market requirements
*Ability to work as part of a team and with low levels of supervision
*Leadership skills
The successful Senior IC Design Engineer will also need to have product knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
*Feedback control systems and compensation techniques
*Integrated pulse width modulated (PWM) power controllers with an emphasis on buck, boost, inverter or buck-boost topologies
*Regulated or unregulated charge pump circuits
*Battery management or power control systems
*High current, rail to rail CMOS op-amps
As well as the above skills and experience the successful Senior IC Design Engineer will need to be degree educated in Electrical or Electronic engineering, MEng preferred.
