My Client, a world leading Semiconductor Design Company are seeking a Senior IC Test Engineer to join the verification team within there established design centre based in Cambridgeshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the test and verification of my clients IC products before they are released for production. This is essentially a lab based role and will involve the use of standard test equipment such and spectrum analysers, network analysers and oscilloscopes. The Senior IC Test Engineer will be involved in devising test cases, running tests, extracting data and using this data to either prove that the device meets its specification or clearly pinpoints the cases where it doesn't. It is also likely that this person will have to create scripts for fully analyse test data and will also get involved in debugging parts of the device that do not meet specification.
The successful Senior IC Test Engineer will be responsible for the following:
*Generation of reliable and repeatable test data to validate custom IC devices
*Using a suitable scripting language e.G. Matlab to identify and investigate device anomalies
*Generation and presentation of test reports
*Archiving and indexing all test results
*Assist the engineering team in the Lab as required during initial device bringup and subsequent debug
*Operating Automated Test Equipment to characterise custom IC devices
*Feedback recommendations for improving device testability
*Devising new test cases and input into the definition of Test Specifications
The successful Senior IC Test Engineer will need to have the following experience;
*Experienced characterising custom analogue IC devices
*Strong working knowledge of the internal blocks within analogue ICs
*Thorough understanding of Boost & Buck switcher operation
*Experience in analysing test data and extracting meaningful conclusions
*Experience with scripting languages (eg Perl, Python, VB Script, VBA, Matlab)
*Good organisational skills
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Experienced using MS Word & Excel
*Proficient presenting results and conclusions using standard tools such as PowerPoint
The following attributes would be an advantage but are not necessary;
*Experienced in electronic debug and fault investigation
*Experience in electronic circuit design
*Experience using LabVIEW
As well as the above skills and experience, the successful Senior IC Test Engineer will need to have a degree in an Engineering discipline (MSc or PhD is preferred but not essential) and have at least 5 years experience working within an IC Test or design position.
