My client, based in Leicester, design and manufacture a range of precision metrology products that are used within a variety of industries including: Optical, Aerospace, Automotive and Semiconductors.
Due to expansion they currently require a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
You will have a strong mechanical design background within experience of playing a lead role on projects.
You will provide the lead mechanical expertise in the design and manufacture of the companies next generation metrology frames which combine roughness, roundness and form on a common platform.
Competencies:
Good Degree Level education in Mechanical Engineering/Physics or equivalent with solid commercial experience in precision and or application of precision engineering from product concept through to production and maintenance.
Sound knowledge and proven track record of manufacturing engineering, materials, methods, processes and quality systems.
Confidence and intelligence to assume technical lead and run several engineers underpinned with sound engineering knowledge.
Demonstrably thorough analytical skills reinforced with practical problem solving abilities and an attention to detail.
Ability to conceive, visualise, and engineer complex mechanical systems.
Communications skills: Good verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally with customer exposure.
Multi-disciplined:Outline understanding of electrical, electronics, and software design issues. (Control systems).
