Senior Research Engineer (UK)
I have a unique opportunity in Bristol or Hertforshire for a creative and experienced Senior Research Engineer.
The role is based within the research group to develop new ideas and technologies. Your work will be integrated with the development groups to influence the direction and type of future products of the company.
Your responsibilities as Senior Research Engineer will include:
Research into 3D graphics and GP-GPU architectures
Investigating improvements to existing architectures/technologies
Implementing simulations of new techniques/technologies
Creating demonstrations of technology
Writing reports describing developed technologies
Interacting with product development teams
Filing patents
Requirements - what you need for this role, which will form the agenda of the interview:
A good honours degree, masters or PhD in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science and related subjects.
Excellent C programming / C++ programming In depth understanding of GPU hardware architectures and pipelines
5 years or greater relevant experience
The ability to understand and communicate complex ideas
Being able to think outside of the box
The ability to work well within a team environment
Being a self starter
Additional areas of interest
Knowledge in any of the following fields:
3D algorithms
GP-GPU algorithms and architecture
System architecture
Compilers
Software simulation
DirectX/OpenGL Drivers
Basic knowledge of hardware architectures
Strong mathematical skills
Experience of writing Patents
