Test & Verification Manager immediately required in Chepstow for leader in consumer electronics sector.
Applicants must have a strong degree and at least 10 years experience in a relevant branch of the electronics industry ideally with at least 2 years in a team lead role with proven ability to organise and guide a small team of engineers. A good grasp of consumer communication systems such as TV, Radio and wireless networking is essential, and you should have knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language.
It would be desirable to have:
C Programming, Scripting languages such as Python and TCL, Familiarity with broadcast system performance specifications
Responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day operation of the test team
Directing the test team members so that they achieve their goals
Reviewing and enhancing the testing procedures and practices to achieve effective operation of the test team
Identifying and sourcing test equipment and software to support the test team operation
Preparing and reviewing test reports for presentation to customers, ensuring the reports are accurate and repeatable and consistent.
Investigating problem reports forwarded by the front-line customer support team to identify the cause of the problem.
Supporting customer performance evaluation testing both pre and post sales.
This is a key position in an IP product development environment, with opportunities to progress into more senior company or customer management roles.
