My client a leading UK electronics development company has experienced exponential growth over the last 5 years and they are new looking to further expand their software team with an experienced low level software development engineer

You will work closely as part of a small team developing low level video driver software for next generation consumer gadgets working closely with hardware, simulator and other software teams to ensure high quality product delivery

Responsibilities

  • Development throughout the driver stack including firmware, kernel and user-mode driver components and test applications
  • Lead small projects within the team
  • Understand the overall design of the driver stack
  • Be involved in the full life cycle development of drivers for exisiting and future hardware
  • Propose and drive the implementation of improvements to the product
  • Design and add support for new features in the driver

Essential Experience

  • Strong embedded C programming skills at driver or firmware level
  • Experience and understanding of varying system architectures and embedded real time operating systems
  • Technical or team lead experience within small teams
  • Experience working with a large codebase
  • Experience of Android or embedded RTOS at the driver level
