Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Driver Software - Hertfordshire - Permanent
My client a leading UK electronics development company has experienced exponential growth over the last 5 years and they are new looking to further expand their software team with an experienced low level software development engineer
You will work closely as part of a small team developing low level video driver software for next generation consumer gadgets working closely with hardware, simulator and other software teams to ensure high quality product delivery
Responsibilities
- Development throughout the driver stack including firmware, kernel and user-mode driver components and test applications
- Lead small projects within the team
- Understand the overall design of the driver stack
- Be involved in the full life cycle development of drivers for exisiting and future hardware
- Propose and drive the implementation of improvements to the product
- Design and add support for new features in the driver
Essential Experience
- Strong embedded C programming skills at driver or firmware level
- Experience and understanding of varying system architectures and embedded real time operating systems
- Technical or team lead experience within small teams
- Experience working with a large codebase
- Experience of Android or embedded RTOS at the driver level
