A superb opportunity for a Hardware Electronics Design Engineer to become a key member in the design centre of a successful world leader in the development of cutting edge RFID based access control systems. The Hardware Electronics Design Engineer will primarily be focused on design, development, test & evaluation with roughly 50:50 mix of analogue (Power/RF/Baseband) and digital electronics circuit design.

This is a fast paced, challenging role with a combination of new platform and custom product design, which makes for an interesting and varied workload, state-of-the-art technologies and excellent long term career potential.

Job Title: Hardware Electronics Design Engineer

Salary: negotiable but likely to be in the range £30-38k plus benefits

Location: Cardiff

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor or Masters level qualification in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.

Experience in a team based electronic product design environment & able to demonstrate evidence of hardware/product design and problem solving achievements. Minimum of three years experience in a similar Hardware Electronics Engineer role.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Analogue Electronics design, primarily RF layout and tuning
  • Digital Electronics hardware design - ARM, PIC, FPGA, USB, serial (RS232 & RS485)
  • SMT prototyping and layout
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout
  • EMC design
  • Embedded software skills
