Located in the Home Counties, the senior Switch Mode Power Supply Design Engineer (SMPS) will be working with a start up company working a range of technologies, within the lighting market.
As one of the first Senior Switch Mode Power Supply Design Engineers to be entering, the exciting nature of this role will mean that you will be responsible for the entire product life cycle, from concept to production, designing and developing custom SMPS technologies, guiding forthcoming junior team members and driving the design team forward in terms of skills and boundaries. This will be in a high volume, low cost and high reliability environment, with high frequent AC output.
Essential skills include Switch Mode Power Supply Design (SMPS), High Frequent Magnetic design, PCB layout design, Circuit Simulation, Design validation/verification and Microcontrollers /Embedded Hardware Programming.
The ideal candidate should show signs of being inventive/creative and one who is self reliant, whilst comfortable working in small teams. Those with a broad background (variety of applications) are also encouraged to apply, be it from large or small companies. The right candidate will have full project management (from concept to volume manufacturing) skills, design for manufacturing (DfM), design for reliability, EMC, power supply knowledge in the range of 50W to 1000W and broad up-to-date knowledge on components.
