Based in the Midlands, the Power Electronics Design Engineer will work with a key innovator in Automotive Electronics, developing electric and hybrid-electric vehicles vehicle (EV/HEV) technology.
Duties will include product specification, design and development of high-voltage/high-power electronic circuits and systems using IGBT/Power MOSFETs, design for test and manufacture, design for EMC standards, supporting product design validation, technical documentation and design for high reliability applications.
The successful candidate will be degree educated in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field and have a demonstrable background in Power Electronics. Candidates must have an understanding of analogue circuit design, power electronic circuits, designing and testing power electronic circuits, Switch-Mode Power Supply electronic and magnetic design, gate drive circuits for IGBTs and/or Power MOSFETS. A basic understanding of electric machines, working with high voltage systems and knowledge of Altium designer or Matlab as well as spice based circuit simulation tools are a distinct advantage.
