We are working closely with a fabless semiconductor startup based in Dublin. Key skills required: SMPS IC Design, Switched Mode, PSU, AC-DC conversion, DC-DC conversion.
An immediate requirement for an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer with knowledge/track record of SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) controller ICs. AC-DC conversion is the primary area of interest but DC-DC experience also considered.
You are likely to have a number of years experience in Analog IC design with a focus on SMPS controller ICs. Some of your experience might include:
- designs with integrated Power MOS (up to 650V to 750V) as well as controllers to be used with external discrete Power MOSFETs
- experience of different technologies eg. BCD, BiCMOS, Bipolar, CMOS
- design of controller ICs for use in flyback AC-DC converters including PFC controllers, primary and/or secondary side sensed flyback converters, flyback based converters for LED lighting applications.
You should also be familiar with the various control algorithms used in SMPS converters as well as in the circuit implementation of the key building blocks used in such converters. Any experience in leading or supervising small teams in the development of complete ICs from specification through to volume production would be an advantage.
