This SME based in the West Midlands is looking for a new Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing R&D team as the business looks to manufacture in the future. The Role…

The successful Power Electronics Design Engineer will support the development of prototype and pre-production controllers for hybrid vehicles. The role will allow the more intuitive engineers to work on leading technologies in the automotive sector helping the plight of clean energy. As an R&D company, all projects are for external customers and the business works with some of the leading OEM and Tier 1 suppliers plus currently working with a major Formula 1 team.

You'll be responsible for the design of DC-DC converters and inductor designs. Once the prototype has been design, you'll have to ensure it passes all test compliances before the product is sent to customers for their R&D projects. In the role of Power Electronics Design Engineer, you'll have to evaluate and document your product designs to allow for improvements in the future.

Technical Skills:

*DC-DC Converter Design/SMPS
*Inductor Design
*Brushless DC Motors/Motor Control Design
*10 - 100kw Power Electronics
*Matlab/Simulink
