Our client in Surrey, a manufacturer of gas-filled radiation detectors, is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join their organisation.
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Production Engineer will provide technical and technology support to the project team and gas-filled radiation detector manufacturing department, provide design, development and engineering support required for efficient delivery of the order book and new product introductions on major contracts, provide technical oversight of progress on key contracts and ensure timely intervention or escalation as required to maintain delivery, quality and profitability, provide documentation, work instruction (WI) as necessary to support manufacturing activities, review manufacturing/test records to confirm validity/accuracy prior to distribution to customer/ end user, provide a long term interface with customers/end user on manufacturing/ technical issues, discussing and agreeing solutions/ way forward.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications/experience in (electro-) mechanical engineering/manufacturing along with the ability to work confidently with engineering documentation including drawings, specifications & WI, good problem solving and team working skills, able to work under own initiative and be IT literate in standard Office packages including Excel. A scientific/ physics background and knowledge of radiation (detectors) will be a distinct advantage.
This location is commutable from Kings Cross, Gatwick, Crawley, Dartford, Harrow and Slough.
