Job title: Application Support Engineer

Summary
My client is a global leader providing next generation secure cloud software solutions. Due to the expansion of the organisation, a new office is to be opened in Amsterdam. The position will be responsible for implementing and supporting advanced solutions as well as troubleshooting and resolving (2nd level support) configuration problems during the solution implementation and ongoing end-user support.
Essential Requirements
. TCP/IP and networking protocols
. Web Services calls (SOAP / REST)
. XML
. Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X)
. Well versed of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and having clear understanding of current technologies.
. Experience working directly with clients having a wide range of technical abilities; ability to tailor client contact to the client's technical knowledge
. Knowledge of a Relational Database Structure and ability to read and write basic SQL SELECT database queries
. Business Judgment and Problem Solving:
. Position requires business judgment when diagnosing technical problems; and when providing technical advice and guidance directly to clients
. Effective Communication and Negotiation Skills
. Ability to manage multiple tasks/situations simultaneously & handle stressful situations
. Solid working IT experience with industry certification OR Extensive experience of IT without
Certification should include some or all of the following:
. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
. Sun Solaris Entry Level
. ITIL Service Management (ITSM)
Desired Qualifications
. Desktop Support Experience a plus
. SharePlex Experience a BIG plus
