Based in Bristol, our client, a leading power supply design and development company are currently seeking a PCB Design Engineer with immediate effect. The successful candidate should have experience in PCB Layout (ideally with experience of SMPS) , enclosure design, thermal analysis , 3D design (Solidworks), sheet metal, moulding, rapid prototyping and tolerancing. This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly opened office and be part of an expanding team for a world wide leader in its field. The position would suit a PCB Designer who is open to developing their 3D skills in Solidworks. Candidates will also be considered from a 3D Cad background who have had exposure to layout and electronics enclosures.

Key requirements:
HND/Degree qualified with a minimum 5 years in mechanical design and engineering within a volume electronic manufacturing environment
3D CAD designs (Solidworks or similar).
Triz /systematic problem solving skills
PCB Layout for high currents and low noise, including power electronics/SMPS (ideally using Pads)
A good knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes
Thermal simulation (SolidWorks, Flowtherm, Ansys or similar)
An understanding of electronics, at a basic level would be advantageous
Plastic moulding
