The successful Power Semiconductor Applications Design Engineer will be working with their key clients, offering expertise and resources in order for them to implement the next generation technology into products such as solar inverters, network servers and Induction motors. You will be leading discussions to develop product architectures and specifications as well as evaluating and presenting innovative technology solutions. In addition you will be assisting with device analysis, simulation and characterisation to prove new design concepts and architectures.
The following skills are required for the Applications Design Engineer;
*Experience with Power Factor Correction and Power Conversion.
*Experience with Power Semiconductor areas such as Thyristors, Inverters, Power Mosfets, IGBT, Rectifiers / Rectifier Bridge, AD/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC Drives, Resonant Converters, Systems Topologies, BLDC Motors, Brushless AC Motors.
*Experience in applications in High voltage (200-1200v) Power Conversion Applications.
*Experience with simulation tools such as Pspice, Matlab/ Simulink, TSuprem and Medici.
The successful Power Semiconductor Application Design Engineer will need to be at least degree educated (MSc or PhD preferred) in a relevant subject with at least 4-6 years industry experience developing analog and digital electronics and power control circuitry for applications such as motor control drives, solar systems and electric vehicles etc.
