You will be the onsite representative for designing and developing automotive powertrain control algorithms. Excellent customer facing skills required, as well as CAN, Control Systems and Automotive knowledge.
Primary Role
Providing first-line technical support onsite at customer facility. This will involve interacting in person and by telephone and email.
Responsible for designing, developing and validating automotive powertrain control algorithms using rapid prototyping tools across a variety of vehicle programmes. Meeting the needs of the customer for new feature development, bug fixing and other rapid prototyping activities such as one-off climate trip applications. Working at a customer facility with access to ECUs, HiLs, Dyno's and Vehicles to implement control algorithms and backed by a Globally distributed team.
The support will be for our Rapid-Prototyping products and will consist of the following:
-Assisting users with technical queries and assessing whether support enquiries are valid
-Log all reported issues and user suggestions, investigate, implement and where necessary feedback to development team, and track to closure.
-Provide user training.
-Assist with general user support, such as calibration, automation (scripting/API) and rapid prototyping usage etc.
-Provide software/control system engineering consulting to our customers where appropriate
-Working with ATI worldwide teams on specific projects
-Liaising with the rest of the ATI Group on technical issues and working together to maintain and improve products and company procedures in software and other areas.
-Working in a quality-oriented environment
-Miscellaneous technical tasks
Required Practical Experience:
*Automotive calibration or control system development experience
*Experience in the development of automotive control systems and algorithms using rapid prototyping systems
*Development of software specifications, test plans, and procedures
*Good practical understanding of general software engineering principles
*Experience using development tools from The Mathworks (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder)
*Experience with software calibration tools
Essential Skills:
*Excellent customer facing skills
*High level of aptitude - can learn new skills quickly
*Good communication skills, both written and oral
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of C, Visual C++ and C#.net
Understanding of software quality standards including MISRA guidelines
