ATA Recruitment is working on an exclusive basis for a leading engineering supplier based in Kent boasting a turnover of £5 million. My client leads to way in cutting edge engineered solutions sold directly to the Process and Engineering sector. My client operates in a very niche sector, and due to an increase in business they have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Internal Sales Engineer based in Kent

Key responsibilities

. Your first 6 months will be 100% office based and after that the role will start to have some face to face exposure with clients. This role has a good mix of commercial and technical aspects to the role

Your role will be:

1. Responding to incoming enquiries via Phone, Fax or Email
2. Selling a complete range new Electronic Products and Accessories
3. Reading, understanding and working to specifications
4. Quoting and order processing
5. Cross selling and up selling additional services
6. Sizing up equipment, conducting electrical, electronic, flow and pressure calculations
7. BOM's liaising with 3rd party suppliers
8. Direct customer contact
9. Project Management - seeing the projects through to installation along with offering after sales and services
10. Trouble shooting and technical support
11. Commissioning electronic products

Experience and background:

1. Minimum HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
2. A minimum 1 years engineering work experience in either Sales, Applications, Projects, Proposals, Tendering or any other sales support role
3. Candidates with a background in Automation Control will be highly desirable
4. A strong relationship builder who is technically minded


Up to £28,000 (based on experience) + OTE up to £30,000 + 20 days holiday & stat

My client is keen to invest very heavily on training and development for the right individual. After 6 months service you will start having expose in visiting clients face to face, with the long term aim to have you ready to be a full time field sales engineer within 3 years.

Past that your progression will again be dictated by your performance with long term opportunities to move into more of a managerial position
