Our client designs and develops cutting edge mixed signal solutions for the for some of the world's leading automotive and wireless handset manufacturers and they are seeking a Senior CAD Engineer to be based in the Netherlands.
YOU MUST HAVE/BE THE FOLLOWING
Skills and knowledge required:
. Fluent English (required) and Dutch language (preferred)
. Education in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering with practical experience in Unix and programming (TCL, Perl, Skill, PHP,C and Makefiles). Experience in Semiconductor Industry is preferred.
. Service-oriented behavior.
. Good written and verbal communication skills
. Ability to prioritise work, set goals and meet deadlines
. Good interpersonal skills
. Presentation skills, e.g. for internal training, etc.
Brief description of function: Supporting all aspects of the used design environment and tools
Direct Reports: None
Main Overall Responsibilities:
. Develop and maintain our clients CAD environment with a focus on quality and efficiency
. Provide excellent technical support for all Engineers in the use of the their CAD tools
. Ensure thorough and accurate documentation is suitably maintained by taking full responsibility for ensuring updates are undertaken in an efficient and timely manner
. Maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of the relevant design tools
. Keep abreast of developments in the appropriate field
. Behave in a professional and creditable manner
. Ensure correct interfacing between EDA tools of different vendors; if needed create scripts / small tools to smooth the interfacing.
. Installation and testing of updates / new versions of EDA tools.
. Evaluate bug reports of tool users, discuss with other CAD members, optionally report them to EDA tool vendors and / or find workarounds
. Evaluation of new EDA tools according to company requirements.
. Support project environment, project specific scripts created by CAD (e.g. "make-flow").
. Document all CAD (related) issues, contribute to CAD wiki.
